DeskJoin Remote FAQ

Before you try it: downloads, setup, and using your computers over the local network.

Can I download DeskJoin Remote now?

Yes. Go to the Downloads section for the macOS trial, Windows trial preview, and Android Controller APK.

Downloads section →

How do I install the Android APK?

Download the APK directly on your Android device and open it. Android may ask you to allow installs from your browser or file manager. Enable that permission for the current source, install DeskJoin Remote, then turn the permission off again if you prefer.

What is included in this trial?

The macOS trial includes nearby-Mac discovery, pairing, screen viewing, remote keyboard and pointer input, and optional system audio. Clipboard sharing, file transfer, internet relay and remote wake are not included.

Which computer is running my apps?

The computer being controlled: a Mac or Windows PC. In the bedroom example, your apps run on the Mac mini, while your MacBook displays its desktop and sends your input to it. You are not opening a separate copy of its apps on the controller.

Can I remotely control an iPhone or Android device?

No. The Android and iOS editions are Controllers only. They can view and control a supported Windows PC or Mac, but they do not make the phone or tablet available for remote control.

How is this different from DeskJoin Control?

DeskJoin Control shares a keyboard and mouse between computers while you look at each computer's own screen. DeskJoin Remote is designed to bring a Mac or Windows PC's screen and controls to your other device, so you can use the computer from another room.
