DeskJoin Screen is a cross-platform app that turns another compatible device into a second display. A Mac can extend its desktop to another Mac, a Windows PC, or an Android device, and compatible desktop versions can also use Mirror mode.
Yes. Use a compatible MacBook, iMac, or spare Mac as extra desktop space for documents, messages, videos, dashboards, or reference material.
Yes. Install DeskJoin Screen on both Macs, open the app on the primary Mac and the iMac, then choose the iMac in Extend mode from the primary Mac. Both Macs must run macOS 12.3 or later and use the same local network or a direct Thunderbolt Bridge connection. Use the primary Mac's keyboard and mouse while the iMac displays the extended desktop.
Both modes are supported where available. Extend mode adds workspace like a second monitor. A Mac can send an extended desktop to another Mac, a Windows PC, or an Android device. Mirror mode displays another compatible Mac or Windows desktop without adding extra workspace.
No. Mirror mode displays the other Mac's screen on your current Mac, but it does not provide remote input. Keyboard and mouse operation must be performed on the other Mac.
Install DeskJoin Screen on both Macs, then start Mirror mode from the Mac with a display. The Mac mini's screen appears on that Mac, but you operate it using the keyboard and mouse connected to the Mac mini.
Active Extend mode on Windows requires a virtual display driver signed with an EV code-signing certificate. DeskJoin does not currently have an EV certificate, so the Windows version cannot initiate Extend mode.
Yes. Install DeskJoin Screen on both devices, open it on the Mac and Windows PC, then start Extend from the Mac and choose the Windows PC. The Windows version can receive an extended Mac desktop but cannot currently initiate Extend mode.
Yes. Install DeskJoin Screen on the Mac and an Android device running Android 10 or later. Start Extend from the Mac and select the Android device as the receiving display.
You need DeskJoin Screen installed on two compatible devices connected to the same reachable local network. To use Extend, the sending device is currently a Mac running macOS 12.3 or later; the receiving display can be another compatible Mac, a Windows 10 or later PC, or an Android 10 or later device.
No. DeskJoin Screen does not require a product login, subscription, or matching Apple ID. The display session uses your local network, although internet access may still be needed to download the app or check for updates.
Yes. Use the same Wi-Fi network, the same Ethernet network, or a direct Thunderbolt connection with Thunderbolt Bridge.
Yes. DeskJoin Screen is free to use and does not require a paid plan, subscription, or product account.
