DeskJoin Control · Setup guide
How to use one mouse and keyboard on two computers.
Keep each computer on its own screen. Move your pointer across a joined edge, and your keyboard and mouse control the computer beside it.
The short answer
Connect both computers. Cross the edge.
Install DeskJoin Control on each computer, keep both on the same trusted local network, and pair them with a matching six-digit code. Set whether the second computer is to your left or right. Then push the pointer through that edge to move the mouse and keyboard to the other computer.

What you need
- Two supported computersWindows 10 or later on x64, or an Apple silicon Mac running macOS 11 or later. You can mix Windows and Mac.
- One local networkConnect both computers to the same trusted Wi-Fi or Ethernet network, with local communication allowed.
- DeskJoin Control on bothLeave the app open on each computer while you set up the connection.
- macOS permissionsOn a Mac, allow Accessibility access for keyboard and pointer control. Allow Local Network access if macOS requests it.
Set up the connection
Five steps to share your mouse and keyboard
- 01
Install on both computers
Choose the Windows or macOS download for each computer. Install and open DeskJoin Control on both sides.
- 02
Put them on the same network
Use the same trusted local Wi-Fi or Ethernet network. If a Mac asks for Accessibility or Local Network permission, grant it before connecting.
- 03
Find and pair the other computer
In DeskJoin Control, choose the nearby computer you want to control. When prompted, check that the six-digit pairing code matches on both computers and confirm the pair.
- 04
Set its position
Tell DeskJoin Control whether the other computer is to the left or right of the one you are using. Match the arrangement on your desk so the pointer crosses the expected edge.
- 05
Move across the screen edge
Push the pointer through the joined edge. Your mouse clicks, scrolling, and keyboard input now go to the other computer. Move back through the matching edge to return.
After setup
Each computer stays independent.
DeskJoin Control shares input, not video. Each computer keeps its own display and apps; this is not an extended monitor or a hardware KVM switch. Previously paired computers can reconnect when they are available again on the same network.
If the other computer does not appear, check that DeskJoin Control is open on both sides, both can communicate on the local network, and the Mac has the required permissions. If the connection ends, local pointer control is restored. On Mac, press Option+Shift to recall the pointer immediately.
Use a trusted network. DeskJoin Control 1.0 uses mutual TLS 1.2 for pairing and reliable control messages. Low-latency pointer movement and scrolling use session-bound UDP that is validated but not encrypted.
